I asked you all last week what's stressing you out, and unsurprisingly, money came up, over and over. Money is one of the most stressful things a person deals with, and believe it or not, it's not really about how much you have.
People who are barely making it worry about money. Obviously. But people with a lot of money worry about it too. They fight about it with their family. They feel disconnected from most of the world because their reality doesn't match anyone else's. A billionaire is still, somehow, worried about money.
So let's be clear about the two different things happening here, because they get lumped together and they're not the same:
If you can't pay for food and a roof, that is a real problem. And if that's you right now, I want to say this as plainly as I can:
That is not a scarcity mindset.
That is not you failing to manifest.
That is not you not trying hard enough.
That is a system built to extract from the many for the benefit of the few. Hello, K-shaped economy.
It needs to be fixed at the systemic level, and in the meantime, yes, you can work some individual magic too. There's a spell for you at the end of this letter.
But once your basic needs are met, something strange happens. Making more money stops making you happier. It's been shown in social science studies. And yet the stress doesn't go away. It’s over different things, but it’s still money stress.
I have a friend who has an incredible lifestyle, lives in one of the most expensive cities in the world, in her own place, has access to a beach house a couple of hours away that her family owns, and yet she's very sad and disappointed that she doesn't own her own beach house. I have another friend who just lost her job, has a full year of living expenses saved, and is completely freaking out.
In contrast, I know someone else who's been out of work for almost a year, has maybe two months of expenses left, and is annoyed… but fundamentally fine, because she knows things work out for her. They always have. Part of her magic is knowing that. That's not true for everyone, but it's true for her.
If you're reading this, you at least have access to an internet connection somehow, which is more than most, and so if you're not struggling to pay for your basic physical needs, please try to connect with that feeling of actually being okay, and enjoy it for a moment.
If you're not in that situation, or if you’re still stressed out about money (which is SO MANY people, please know you’re not alone), this is what I recommend.
Find yourself a windy spot outdoors. Connect specifically with your mind.
... all of the thoughts that start the fear cycle in your body
... the voices that keep telling you that you're screwed and that you don't know how things are going to work out
... and let the wind sweep them away.
Stand there as long as it takes to feel the fear actually being swept off your body by the wind, even if it’s for just a moment. Sensing that subtle shift is all it takes. Allow the wind to carry all the thoughts that are terrorizing you and take them far, far away.
Then say this, out loud if you can or just silently in your mind:
It's going to be fine, I know this true
Because I'm here, and I'll see it through.
Being here means it's already right,
And it can grow to be better, drenched in light.
It will keep getting better, on and on,
I'm open to more than I've leaned upon.
So much good is mine to receive
I take it now. I simply believe.
Put your hands on the ground. Thank the Earth for everything you already have. Then go on with your day.
Courage, truth, and infinite love,

I don’t believe in magic, but I know that it works!
Magic is not a belief system, it’s a practice that works. Don’t believe me? Come try it out. If it doesn’t work, you lose nothing. But if it does… your dream life is about to begin!
