Manifestation or Just Manipulation? (Let’s Be Honest…)

Dear Reader,

Have you ever heard someone say, “I totally manifested that!” and think… Yeah but, did you, though?

Like when your bestie “manifested” their ex texting back—except it mysteriously happened right after they posted a thirst trap with a caption that read, “Some people don’t know what they lost… but I do 😉.”

Or when you “manifested” a free coffee: "I was just thinking about how I wanted a free coffee, and the barista gave me one!" …they sure did, but you also smiled extra big, complimented their tattoo, and mentioned how broke you are before miraculously getting that free drink.

Look, I love a good manifestation story as much as anyone, but let’s be real: there’s a difference between magic and manipulation.

True manifestation works with the energy of the reality.
😬 Manipulation tries to force the outcome.

And trust me, I say this with love because I have been there.

When I was single, I so desperately didn’t want to be, and I consistently dated the wrong guy. I was determined to manifest a relationship, and I was convinced that if I just visualized hard enough, I’d suddenly find The One.

So I did everything:

  • Lit the candles.
  • Wrote the list of attributes I was looking for
  • Whispered affirmations into the wind like I was in a dramatic telenovela.

And sure enough… I ALWAYS had a date. (Victory! Right?)

Except… it never lasted. Because deep down, I wasn’t calling in real love. I was just trying to bend reality to fit what I wanted.

And magic doesn’t work that way.

How it works:

True manifestation is about aligning yourself with the energy of what’s meant for you.
😬 Manipulation is about controlling a situation to get a temporary high.

One is rooted in power. The other? In desperation. And let’s be honest—desperate magic is bad magic. It comes with side effects, like:

  • Tiredness from constantly chasing what’s not meant to be.
  • Frustration when things don’t go exactly as you planned.
  • Wasted energy that could have been used for something better.

So what do we do instead?

A Spell for Aligned Manifestation (No Thirst Traps Required)

1️⃣ Get clear. Ask yourself: Do I actually want this? Or do I just want control?

2️⃣ Call in what’s meant for you. Light a candle and say: I welcome what is truly aligned with my highest good.

3️⃣ Release the need to force. Let Spirit (or karma, or their own bad decisions) handle the rest.

Because trust me—if something is truly yours, you won’t have to trick, trap, or manipulate anyone into giving it to you.

Now, be honest: What’s one thing you thought you manifested, but deep down, you know you finessed? Hit reply—I won’t judge!

Courage, truth, and infinite love,

P.S. Ready to do magic that actually works? My Essentials of Spiritual Wellness will give you the basics to start walking a magical path.

I don’t believe in magic, but I know that it works!

Magic is not a belief system, it’s a practice that works. Don’t believe me? Come try it out. If it doesn’t work, you lose nothing. But if it does… your dream life is about to begin!

Hi Reader, Birth, death, and rebirth are the natural order of life. They’re not optional. They’re not metaphors. They are Reality—with a capital R. Everything that lives follows this rhythm.People. Plants. Animals. Ecosystems. Beliefs. Movements. Organizations. Even economies. And yet, we’ve built a world that clings to only one part of the cycle: birth and growth. The rise. The expansion. The illusion of limitless “more.” We try to skip the death part entirely. We pretend endings are failures....

Dear Reader, Two days ago, around 10 a.m., I stepped outside and looked up at the sky.She looked unreal. Not metaphorically—literally.A perfect crescent moon, drawn with such precision it felt like someone had painted her there.Hanging in the South, her round edge facing East. So flawless, so still. And she’d be gone by the weekend. Something about that moment hit me.Staring at that moon—the same one I’ve been looking at for half a century—every cell in my body whispered a truth I couldn’t...

Hey Reader, Have you ever found yourself completely shocked and pissed off when someone does the exact opposite of what they are supposed to stand for? Maybe it was the feminist leader who made blatantly sexist comments in a staff meeting. Or the director of a financial empowerment nonprofit who turned out to be stealing money. Or the spiritual guide who preached integrity and alignment, and turned out to be involved in some sleazy scandal. It doesn’t just feel wrong—it feels personal. You...
